The Scarlet Smudgeonmychin

God is punishing me. And as if that wasn't bad enough, he also sent me The Pink and Green Bruiseonmyhand. At least he's being clear about his feelings. I like a low-context deity.

i need help.

”No, bitch, I had baklava for breakfast.”

Well, that’s what I wish I’d said, anyway. Yeah, the morning seems to have escaped me, and I am not so sorry that I missed it. Because the sooner it’s afternoon, the sooner I get to get out of here. last night I went to a CABN meeting and had some knowledge dropped on me. Um, nope. Still not ready to talk about it yet. arg. ick. ick. arg.

Monday recap

i think i might be slowly losing my work ethic. I just got an email that i don't feel any real rush to respond to, knowing that the other addresse of the email just left for lunch and won't be back for another hour. It's not even that i have that much to do, other than a news round-up (i've been trying to stay more on top of these things --aka world events-- and it paid off today when someone asked me if i had heard about the attempted missile attack on the plane in Kenya!!)

In other news, my "feel good" check of the year- $76.10 to the Howard Brown Health Center- bounced. Perhaps my passion for my job wouldn't falter if they wouldn't FORGET TO PAY ME .... not once, but twice now. Forget bad check fees- i just don't want to be persona non grata at the brown elephant. Also, my train was backed up this morning- apparently the controllers at the Wells stop were "checking the switches" so 5 trains were waiting at various spots for upwards at 25 minutes. Not that i wouldn't have have been a little late for the call as it was, but at least i wouldn't have completely missed it. This marks the first global call that i've ever missed- i think perhaps i'll take the next one from home.

I spent a rather ridiculous amount of time with the family this weekend, but i suppose that comes with the territory. Now the real question is what's happening next weekend.....
